Every guest of Night to Shine will experience a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup touch-up stations, shoe-shining stations, trolley rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room, catered dinner, activates, prom favors, and of course dancing!! For each honored guest, a Respite Room for parents or caregivers. Each honored guest will also receive a crown or tiara because they are all kings and queens!

What is Night To Shine?
A night started by the Tim Tebow Foundation which has invited churches worldwide to host a prom on the same night for adults with special needs. Guests will be celebrated with a red carpet welcome, crowns and tiaras, corsages and boutonnieres, games, dancing, dinner, and all around VIP treatment. The vision is to provide an unforgettable night, centered in God's love, for people with special needs 14 and over.

Who is invited to Night To Shine?
Anyone with special needs ages 14 and over. This event is 100% FREE of charge for our guests with special needs.
Do guests need chaperones?
Guests may be dropped off by a parent or caregiver. Each Parent or caregiver will use their judgment whether to stay with the guest, enjoy a night out or stay upstairs in the respite area where you can enjoy a relaxing evening watching the Night To Shine, having a catered dinner, and being pampered. We strongly encourage chaperones to drop off their guest and allow us to assign a buddy/escort for the evening, unless you believe it's essential to accompany your guest into the prom. If you are planning on staying with your guest you will need to register as a volunteer buddy for the event.
What activities can be expected at Night to Shine?
Guests will be assigned to their buddy to help them have the best prom experience ever! Each guest will be treated to a catered dinner, walk a red carpet being cheered on by paparazzi, be crowned king or queen of the prom, hair and makeup touch-ups, shoeshines, karaoke, games, karaoke, a quiet room for anyone needing a break and of course dancing!! We will have security and medical personnel onsite throughout the event.
What is the dress code for Night To Shine?
Most guests will dress in formalwear. However, guests are invited to wear what they are comfortable dancing the night away in - renting formal wear is not necessary.
More to know about being a volunteer
Upon arrival, all guests will be matched with a Buddy to accompany them throughout the evening. Parents or caregivers are welcome to be a buddy for their individual, however they will need to register as a volunteer prior to the event. Parents or caregivers are welcome to stay and relax in our respite area.
Parents or caregivers may sign up to be a “Buddy” for their guest. In order to be a buddy you MUST register as a volunteer PRIOR to the event (please visit volunteer registration page on this website).
Anyone 14 years old and up can help with this event. However, if the volunteer is under the age of 18, they will need to have a parent or guardian sign a permission form and waiver before they can participate and will be under adult supervision. All volunteers will be required to attend a training session, have current required background checks, if you already have current background checks please provide us with a copy by email.
All volunteers will receive training on guest interactions including, how to recognize and avoid the use of offensive terms and phrases, the development of people first language skills, general tips for communicating, and how to prevent and handle awkward or uncomfortable situations. In addition, specific training will be provided for each of the volunteer positions. Orientation dates and times TBD.
